A woman has died following a collision between two vehicles in Markham on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The accident took place near Highway 407 and Woodbine Avenue, as stated by York Regional Police on X, previously known as Twitter. Officers arrived at the scene around 2:15 p. m.

Details about the incident are limited at this time. There’s no information available regarding the woman’s age or how exactly the crash happened. The major collision unit of York Regional Police is currently looking into it.

Authorities closed all four Highway 407 ramps at Woodbine Avenue for several hours during their investigation, but those ramps were reopened later that night.
