There’s some tragic news coming from London, Ont.
A 34-year-old cyclist has lost their life after being hit by a car east of London on Wednesday, according to the.
Emergency services were dispatched to Richmond Street, between Gore Road and Marion Street, shortly after 12:20 p. m. following a collision involving a cyclist and a motor vehicle. The specifics of the accident are still unclear at this time.
The cyclist, hailing from nearby Thames Centre, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries but unfortunately later passed away. The driver involved in the incident was unharmed. Locals have mentioned that this road is frequently used by cyclists.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team is currently looking into the matter.
“Obviously a tough day for everybody involved,” OPP Const. Jeff Hare said in a video posted to X. “Our thoughts go out to the families and everybody else involved in today’s events.”
