A tragic accident on Highway 17 early Saturday morning resulted in the death of an SUV driver.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, just before 3:30 a. m., emergency responders arrived at the scene of a collision involving a transport truck and an SUV on Highway 17, near Calabogie Road.
The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is looking into the matter.
The 49-year-old driver of the SUV from the Golden Lake area was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the transport truck did not sustain any injuries after being assessed by EMS.
Authorities are urging anyone who saw the crash or has dash camera footage to reach out to the Renfrew OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
