Four individuals sustained serious injuries in a two-car accident in West Perth, according to police.
Around 4:30 p. m. on Tuesday, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police in Perth County responded to a crash involving a pickup truck and a sedan at the intersection of Perth Road 164 and Perth Line 39.
All four people inside the sedan were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, and one person was airlifted to a trauma center, police reported. Fortunately, the injuries are not deemed life-threatening.
The two people in the pickup truck did not suffer any injuries during the accident, police mentioned, adding that their investigation is still ongoing.

No Misconduct Found by OPP Officer: SIU
The police oversight agency in Ontario has exonerated an officer after a man suffered a rib fracture during an altercation with law enforcement. This incident occurred on March 4 when the man was arrested concerning an event at town hall in Wingham that took place about a month earlier, as stated by the Special Investigations Unit. While being taken back to his cell at the Ontario Provincial Police station in Clinton, the SIU noted that the man “struggled” with officers and was “forced” to the ground. The officer applied his right knee to the left side of the man’s back, according to SIU reports; emergency services later transported him to a hospital for treatment. After examining video evidence, SIU director Joseph Martino indicated he found no proof that the OPP officer “used his knee against the man in a swinging motion or that he intentionally dropped his knee onto his back with significant force.” <p Martino acknowledged that while it was true that the man’s ribs were fractured when the officer “applied a knee to his back,” there were no reasonable grounds to associate those injuries with any unlawful actions by the officer.
