In Loving Memory of
Yvon Raymond Audet
Yvon Raymond Audet, aged 73, from Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre after a long and brave fight with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.
Born in Kapuskasing, Ontario on November 10, 1952, Yvon was the third of four children, joining his brothers Claude and Denis, and sister Louise. Even as a child, Yvon was full of life and had a love for music, motorcycles, fun times, and perhaps a little trouble whenever he could find it.
It was in Thunder Bay that he found his soulmate Melody Cousineau. Yvon easily became part of her large family with 12 siblings and an extended family who were some of his closest friends. They built a joyful life together filled with laughter and adventures. They married on October 21, 1981 and shared 44 wonderful years together-though they would have wished for even more time. Together they raised two beautiful daughters, Tracy and Nicole, who meant everything to him.
He will be fondly remembered by his wife Melody; daughters Tracy (Jeremy) Hurlbert and Nicole (Josh) Belisle; grandchildren Koen, Cole, Russell, and Ashley. His life brightened as he enjoyed being around his “perfect 10.” He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
Yvon was predeceased by his father Aime Audet; mother Yolande Audet; father-in-law Jerome Cousineau; and mother-in-law Valeda Cousineau.
He had many interests including bowling, golf where he excelled as an athlete; he loved hockey too along with music where he shone as a drummer. His dance moves were something to talk about.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who stood by him during this challenging journey. Special appreciation to Dr. Ibrahim who became not just an oncologist but also a friend; Dr. Bezanson; along with caring nurses like Lori-his favorite oncology nurse-Deena, Favour, and Isabelle who treated our family with kindness throughout this time. Thanks also to Garry and Adele Henry plus Jeannette and Bill Dann for their unwavering support.
Yvon was deeply loved beyond what words can express and will be missed more than one can imagine.
The Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, September 21, 2026 at St. Agnes RC Church located at 1019 Brown Street starting at 11a. m., led by Fr. Larry Kurec.
Arrangements are in the care of EVEREST WESTFORT CHAPEL located at 420 W. Gore Street at James.
