A 62-year-old man has lost his life following a single-vehicle accident involving a delivery truck on Highway 401 in Scarborough.
Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and paramedics responded to the scene on the eastbound express lanes near Neilson Road shortly after 11 a. m. on Monday. Authorities report that the truck crashed into a guide rail.
Paramedics state that a man in his 60s was taken to the hospital with severe injuries, where he later passed away.
The police have reopened the eastbound express lanes after closing part of Highway 401 for investigation.
The OPP indicate that the closure was expected to last until around 3 p. m.
The reason behind the crash is still under investigation.
