Local hospitals are getting a significant financial boost from the province to help with their operations.
The Ontario government is putting forward over $25 million for the Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) and Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
Cambridge Memorial will receive just over $7.4 million, while WRHN is set to get more than $17.9 million.
The funding aims to support operational enhancements and decrease hospital wait times.
“Our government is making historic investments to protect Ontario’s health-care system, ensuring that more people in Waterloo Region can connect to the care they need, where and when they need it,” said Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, in a release.
This funding is part of the $1.1 billion allocated for the hospital sector in the province’s 2026 budget.
