With great sadness, the family shares that Jamie passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in Brantford, Ontario, at the age of 74. He was the loving son of Thomas (who passed in 2005) and Therese (who passed in 2002) O’Neail. He is survived by his siblings Kathryn (Ed) Davis, Eugene (Jody), Tari, Michael, Patricia (Mark) Oreskovich, Tom (Lisa), Tim (Christine), and Peggy (who passed in 1972). He was a wonderful uncle to Bryan (Meredith), Trevor (Joann), Kevin (Erin), Casey (Hannah), Cori (Patrick), Mark (Tina), Dilan, Andrew, Meghan, Emily, and Matthew. As a great-uncle to Colleen, Kathryn, Taylyn, Quinn, Brennan, Sloane, Lily, Emma, Tessa, Connor and Annie. Jamie worked for many years at Carborundum Abrasives in Plattsville. He loved playing and watching all kinds of sports and enjoyed reading a good Michener novel along with a flavorful beer. He treasured holiday gatherings with family and friends where they could share laughs over drinks. His absence will be deeply felt by those who knew him well. Jamie found immense joy in the company of dogs throughout his life-particularly Solstice and Bear. Long walks on community trails brought him peace and happiness. If you had four legs and a tail you were sure to have a special spot in his heart. Visitation will take place at Thorpe Bros. Funeral Home (96 West Street, Brantford) on Saturday, August 22 from 9:30 to 10:30 a. m., followed by a Funeral Service in the chapel at 10:30 a. m., with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Paris. Donations can be made to the SPCA or any charity of your choice.
