The call brought relief
“They called and said we have good news. It was Kingston Police, and I didn’t think she was found. I thought they were just going to give me an update on what was going on. She said they have her,” recalled Williamson. The police informed her that Klaira had been discovered by Peel Regional Police with a male who is now facing charges. The authorities tracked down Klaira by locating the Uber driver who had taken her to Toronto. They confirmed with him that he had dropped off Klaira at a specific address. “We did figure that it was not a great situation, but it could have been a lot worse. We’re very fortunate that she was found and that she’s home now and she’s safe,” said Williamson, who noted her daughter appears physically fine but is still shaken up by everything that’s happened.
