Andrew James Munroe passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the age of 40.
Andrew grew up in Pickle Lake and Thunder Bay and spent part of his childhood in Red Lake, Ontario. He will be remembered for his love for family and friends, the moments he treasured with those he cared about, and the happiness he found in cooking for others. His kindness, gentle spirit, humor, laughter, and presence will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving mother, Sandra (nee Beardy), and father, Gregory; his brothers Derek (Marie), Gregory Jr., and Ashton Munroe; his cherished grandmother Daisy Munroe; along with many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. The family would like to give special thanks to Danny and Anita Quisses and their family for the support they provided during this time.
Andrew was a devoted father who adored his children. He was predeceased by Valarie, the mother of Lasandra (Tanner). He also lost Alvina with whom he had five children: Luke, Adriel, Gregory, Kerrigan, and David. Andrew is fondly remembered by Nikita with whom he shared three children: Hezekiah, Ophelia, and Jassiah.
He was predeceased by his brother Simon; grandparents Absalom and Rhoda Beardy; as well as his grandfather Henry Munroe.
Andrew’s memory will stay alive in the hearts of his family and friends. May they find comfort in their cherished memories that will last forever.
Services will take place on Friday July 31, 2026 at 1:00pm in the Westfort Chapel. Interment will follow on Saturday August 1, 2026 at 10:00am in Riverside Cemetery.
