The Norfolk OPP reported that an officer on patrol spotted a stolen vehicle on Concession 12 Townsend around 3:20 p. m. on June 20.

The suspect’s vehicle fled the scene but was seen again in Waterford, where it allegedly failed to stop for police once more.

The next day, Halton Regional Police located the same vehicle in Oakville and managed to arrest both the driver and passenger. The driver was identified as the same individual seen driving previously.

A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered coin collections, military medals, passports, driver’s licenses, health cards, bank cards, checks, cellphones, and other stolen items.

The male driver faces eight counts of driving while prohibited, two counts of driving while suspended, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fleeing from police officers, theft of a vehicle, possession of break-in tools, possession of stolen property valued over $5,000, and breaching a release order.

He’s currently in custody and is scheduled to appear at Simcoe’s Ontario Court on Tuesday.
