Matt Mc Quillan was a Canadian pro golfer who earned his PGA Tour card. During his rookie year, he achieved three top-ten finishes. His biggest moment came at the PGA’s John Deere Classic where he secured a third-place finish.

His obituary notes that Mc Quillan was just as known for his kindness as he was for his dedication to golf.

“Whether on the course or in everyday life, he had a remarkable ability to bring people together, offering encouragement, laughter, and genuine friendship to everyone he met. His welcoming personality and unwavering kindness made him a beloved figure within Kingston’s golfing community and beyond,” read the obituary.

While golf was one of Mc Quillan’s greatest loves, family shared that he valued it for creating friendships and good sportsmanship along with enjoyment of play.

“Friends who shared rounds with him remember his enthusiasm, positive attitude, and appreciation for every moment spent on the course. He celebrated successes of others as readily as his own and was always willing to encourage fellow golfers regardless of their skill level,” wrote his family.
