SHOOTING INVESTIGATION
UPDATE – LONDON, ON (June 29, 2026) – The Major Crime Section of the London Police Service has identified and apprehended two individuals in connection with a shooting that occurred in the downtown area on May 28, 2026. As a result of their investigation, Khareem Alleyne, 27, from Toronto, and Jahquon Jahzia Lamont, 19, from Scarborough, have been charged together with these offences: Two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition; Two counts of possess loaded/unloaded regulated firearm; Two counts of possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence; and, Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm. Additionally, Khareem Alleyne faces these charges: Two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order; Aggravated assault; and Discharging a firearm with intent to wound, endanger life or prevent arrest. Both suspects are currently held in custody. Khareem Alleyne is set to appear again in London court on July 3, 2026, while Jahquon Jahzia Lamont is expected to re-appear today regarding the charges. LONDON, ON (May 28, 2026) – The Major Crime Section of the London Police Service is looking into a shooting that happened west of downtown overnight. On Thursday morning around 3 a. m., officers responded to reports about gunshots near Wharncliffe Road North and Blackfriars Street. When they arrived on the scene, they found an adult male who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics took him to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is still in its early phases. It’s unclear if the suspect and victim knew each other. Investigators are asking anyone who might have been around Wharncliffe Road North and Blackfriars Street between 2:45 – 3:15 a. m., who may have information or surveillance footage from homes or businesses-or dash-cam footage-to get in touch with them.
