Wednesday is Canada Day which means several businesses and government offices will not be open for the holiday.
Curbside garbage, recycling green cart, and yard waste collections remain unchanged. It’s best to have your items out early.
Grand River Transit will operate according to a holiday schedule.
A few The Beer Store locations will stay open in the region (Cambridge: Holiday Inn Drive and Franklin Boulevard, Kitchener: Bleams Road and Highland Road W).
All LCBO stores will be closed.
Region of Waterloo
All Regional administrative offices will be shut down. Transfer stations for residential drop-off at both the Cambridge and Waterloo Waste Management sites will also be closed. Airport administration offices will close but airport operations won’t change. All branches of the Region of Waterloo Libraries are closing. Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, Schneider Haus National Historic Site, and Mc Dougall Cottage Historic Site will remain open.Cambridge
The city hall along with all administrative offices will close. All community centers and arenas are shutting down. All branches of the Cambridge Public Library are also closing. The Cambridge Centre for the Arts is off-limits. The pools at W. G. Johnson Centre and John Dolson Centre are closing. The city hall is shut down but public restrooms can still be accessed from outside. Albert Mc Cormick Community Centre, Bechtel Park, RIM Park along with the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex and Swimplex are all closed.
