WASAGA BEACH – From healthcare and housing to travel, recreation, financial planning, and healthy aging, everything seniors need to stay informed, connected, and engaged will be under one roof as Wasaga Beach hosts its 8th Annual Seniors Expo on June 24.

Taking place from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. at the Wasaga Beach Rec Plex, the free event brings together more than 100 exhibitors, community organizations, service providers, and local businesses for a day dedicated to supporting older adults and their families.

New this year, Fireside Chats will feature guest speakers discussing topics ranging from healthy aging and community supports to planning for the future while giving attendees an opportunity to ask questions and participate in informal discussions.

Home to the largest senior population in Simcoe County and one of Ontario’s most popular retirement spots, Wasaga Beach continues building its reputation as an age-friendly community by creating opportunities for older adults to stay active, informed, and connected.

Visitors will have the chance to meet face-to-face with organizations and businesses offering information and services related to:

• Healthcare and wellness
• Home care and senior supports
• Housing and retirement living
• Financial and legal services
• Recreation and community programs
• Travel, lifestyle, and leisure opportunities
• Volunteer opportunities and social engagement

Admission is free for everyone. Family members and caregivers are encouraged to join seniors in learning more about the programs, services, and supports available throughout the region.

“One conversation can connect someone with a service, program or opportunity that makes a real difference in their quality of life,” said Jeff Burke, Chair of the Age-Friendly Community Advisory Committee. “The Seniors Expo makes those connections possible by bringing together dozens of organizations and hundreds of community members in one place.”
