Volz, Raymond P.

Ontario, NY – Passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2026, at the age of 83, with his loving wife Rachel by his side. Ray was born in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1961. After finishing school, he started working as a salesman in the printing ink industry. Ray worked at Richardson Ink Company, Croda Ink, and De Paco Inc.

In his younger years, Ray loved playing soccer and baseball. He coached boys’ soccer for several years at the Juniata Boys and Girls Club and played in a men’s baseball league called Loma in Philadelphia. One of Ray’s favorite spots was his former vacation home in Cape May, NJ, where he enjoyed fishing in the Delaware Bay and cooking seafood for friends. He never missed watching games of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies or attending live music concerts when he could. During his retirement over the past 17 years in Wayne County, Ray and Rachel cheered on their granddaughter Kate along with nephews Braydn and Parker at their baseball and soccer games at Sodus Central School.

Ray also enjoyed playing trumpet alongside his lifelong friend John Seiner on keyboard and loved working on his train collection. He proudly served our country in the United States Army with close friend Chet Zack.

He was predeceased by his father Raymond M. Volz and mother Evelyn G. (Sharpley) Volz. He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Rachel Volz; caring father to Susan (Volz) Short and husband Wayne; Ken Volz and wife Lori; Mike Volz and wife Gerri; Mark Toor and wife Kristen; Vicki Mackey and husband Martin; loving grandfather to Shelby Short and wife Ines; Alex Park; Stephen Volz; Loren Volz and fiancé Kennedy Beck; Eddie Vermeulen and wife Cadi; Kathryn Toor and husband Dylan; Megan Volz and fiancé Nolan Mason; cherished great-grandfather to James and Julian Vermeulen.

A calling hour will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 11 am – 12 pm followed by Ray’s funeral service at noon at Webster Bible Church: 675 Holt Road, Webster, New York. Burial will follow at Sodus Rural Cemetery.

If you’d like to make a donation in memory of Ray, please send it to: Webster Bible Church: 675 Holt Road, Webster, New York 14580. You can express online condolences at www. youngfuneralhomeny. com.
