A dump truck driver has lost his life after his vehicle overturned on Highway 407 in Oshawa Thursday morning, according to police.

A man driving a dump truck has died after the vehicle rolled over on Highway 407 in Oshawa Thursday morning, police report.

The rollover took place at approximately 8:15 a. m., according to Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.

A garbage truck flipped over and the driver was later confirmed dead, he mentioned.

The eastbound on-ramp close to Simcoe Street is currently shut down, as noted by the OPP in a post on X.

Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area and find alternative routes.
