A huge summer street festival is set to take over Main Street in Unionville, a charming little town in Markham, featuring all the classic elements of an outdoor celebration.

This June, the Unionville Festival will turn one of its most beautiful and historic streets into a lively, pedestrian-only party filled with local vendors and live entertainment.

Main Street Unionville will be alive with performances, outdoor dining, artisan markets, pop-up shops, and community activities throughout the festival weekend.

No matter if you’re drawn in by the food, the shopping, or just looking for a reason to enjoy a day on Ontario’s coziest main streets – a spot that attracts visitors year-round – this festival has something for everyone.

First started in 1969 as a way to save Main Street from being torn down, the festival now welcomes over 30,000 guests each year, featuring more than 500 vendors and entertainers along with over 25 unique attractions.

This year’s entertainment will include local buskers, live bandstand shows, a dog show, and even a parade taking over the street on June 6 at 10:30 a. m.

It’s safe to say that excitement is building for this annual event. Fans of the festival have been sharing their enthusiasm on the event’s official Instagram announcement.

“Can’t wait for the best weekend of the year in Unionville,” one user writes. “Summer’s cominggg,” another comment reads.

Main Street Unionville has been undergoing significant restoration work since August 2024, which limited capacity at the festival for two years. Now that the restoration is finished, this year’s event is expected to be bigger and more thrilling than ever before.

The Unionville Festival will take place on June 6 and 7 in Markham, Ont., and entry is free. Be sure to check the event website for updates as we get closer to the big weekend.
