Sarnia Sting ahead JJ Franceschetti has been suspended for a complete of 5 video games.
The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) introduced the choice on Friday.
On Saturday, December 28, Franceschetti was handed a combating main and a sport misconduct for being the aggressor after an altercation with Saginaw defenceman Josh Glavin.
The OHL Division of Participant Security stated “the Sarnia participant demonstrated willful negligence in his actions towards his opponent, persevering with his aggression regardless of having the chance to acknowledge that his opponent had elected to not have interaction within the altercation.”
Franceschetti has already served two video games of his suspension, and is eligible to return to the lineup on January 17 towards Sudbury.
In the meantime, the Sting’s Tyson Doucette has been suspended for 3 video games.
He obtained a 5 minute main penalty for crosschecking and a sport misconduct throughout the sport on January 1 towards London.
