Windsor police report that three teenagers have been taken into custody after a series of break-ins at a local community centre.
From March 2025 to January of this year, officers responded to at least three incidents involving break-ins at the centre located on Ouellette Avenue near Tecumseh Road. The intruders caused damage to picnic tables, outdoor pool equipment, and signs.
In every case, surveillance footage captured the group entering the premises, vandalizing property, and then leaving.
The three youths were identified, and last Monday they voluntarily went to Windsor police headquarters.
A 13-year-old has been charged with three counts of break-and-enter. One 12-year-old is facing two counts, while another 12-year-old has one count against them.
Under the Ontario Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of the youths cannot be disclosed.
The charges are not yet proven in court.
