A chilly splash for a great cause is back in Georgian Bluffs this March.
The 2026 Polar Plunge supporting Special Olympics Ontario is set for Saturday, March 7 at the Shallow Lake Arena.
Grey Bruce OPP Constable Kody Lyons mentions that this event is a fun way for everyone to come together while helping Special Olympics athletes all over the province.
“The polar plunge is a signature fundraising event for Special Olympics Ontario, helping to provide year-round sports programs, competitions, and opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities,” added Lyons. “Every plunge, pledge, and donation directly supports these programs.”
Residents, businesses, and service clubs are invited to form teams, issue challenges, and make this year’s plunge the biggest one yet.
“This year’s event offers even more ways for the community to get involved,” shared Lyons. “Before the plunge starts, community members are welcome to watch the Grey Bruce OPP take on the Intertownship Fire Department in a Charity Hockey Game at the Shallow Lake Arena. Puck drops at 1 p. m.”
Registration for The Polar Plunge also kicks off at 1 p. m., with the freezing dip starting at 2 p. m. The Shallow Lake Arena is located at 550 Princess Street.
