The federal and provincial governments are investing as much as $7.18 million in 70 dairy processing tasks throughout the province, together with two in Perth-Wellington, as a part of the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP).

Matthew Rae, MPP for Perth-Wellington, highlighted the native impression, saying $201,312 in funding for River’s Edge Goat Dairy and Stonetown Cheese. River’s Edge will obtain $1,312 for effectivity upgrades, whereas Stonetown Cheese has been awarded $200,000 to modernize its operations.

“It is a nice program for our native dairy processors,” Rae mentioned. “It’s one of many some ways our provincial authorities is supporting Ontario companies. This funding will allow native processors to enhance productiveness, high quality, and security, guaranteeing they continue to be aggressive in a dynamic trade.”

The Dairy Processing Modernization Initiative offers cost-shared funding of as much as $200,000 per applicant to cowl tools upgrades, coaching, and extra. Open to processors of cow, goat, sheep, and water buffalo milk, this system has already pushed $22 million in whole capital investments and stays open to new functions.

“Ontario’s dairy processors have proven exceptional development and proceed to provide secure, high-quality merchandise,” mentioned Rob Flack, Minister of Agriculture, Meals and Agribusiness. “The success of this initiative demonstrates the trade’s potential to modernize and seize new alternatives.”
