The Ontario government is providing financial support for this year’s Carrousel of the Nations.
Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Andrew Dowie announced a $30,000 grant for the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County on Thursday morning. This funding comes from the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund, which aims to safeguard and promote cultural tourism sustainability.
This event has been recognized as one of the province’s best festivals for the past three years.
“We are grateful to the provincial government for this important investment,” said MCC’s executive director and city councillor Fred Francis. “This funding will help us expand our reach, attract increased cultural tourism, and welcome more residents to experience Ontario’s top festival.”
This year’s event will continue to enhance cultural programming and community engagement initiatives. It also features a new partnership with the Windsor International Film Festival.
“Arts and culture organizations across Ontario enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike by providing one-of-a-kind events that proudly showcase the best that our province has to offer,” said Tourism Minister Stan Cho. “This investment will help bring these projects to life while boosting local business, creating jobs, and enabling audiences of all ages to experience unique, made-in-Ontario programming that will create lifelong memories.”
Since 1999, the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund has supported over 1,000 events, festivals, and exhibitions across the province, attracting more than 91 million attendees.
