5 younger individuals are dealing with a string of charges and Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after two of them had been critically damage whereas allegedly fleeing a site visitors cease in Durham Area.

Durham police stated they seized two firearms and prohibited magazines from the car the youths had been in after it crashed in Whitby Monday evening.

In a information launch Wednesday, police stated they initiated a site visitors cease on a suspicious car within the space of Winchester Highway W. and Thornton Highway N. round 10:30 p.m. The car fled and was situated quickly afterwards in a ditch after colliding with one other car, they stated.

The accused now face quite a few charges, together with possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm, driving a motorcar with out a license, flight from a peace officer and possession of prohibited ammunition.

The Particular Investigations Unit stated Tuesday that it was investigating after two youths had been critically damage following the tried police cease. It stated the youths had been in a BMW and recognized the opposite car as a Nissan Rogue SUV.

Police say they didn’t pursue the car after it fled the cease.

SIU spokesperson Kristy Denette stated a 17-year-old and 13-year-old had been taken to the Hospital for Sick Youngsters in Toronto with severe, however non-life-threatening accidents. One has since been launched, she stated.

The 16-year-old driver of the car fled on foot with minor accidents however was later apprehended, Denette stated. Two different passengers weren’t critically damage, the SIU stated.

The occupants of SUV weren’t critically injured, Denette stated.
