Two cops concerned in a wrong-way deadly pursuit on Freeway 401 this spring haven’t agreed to be interviewed by Ontario’s police watchdog.

The Particular Investigations Unit (SIU) offered an replace Wednesday on their investigation into the April 29 crash in Whitby that killed 4, together with an toddler and their grandparents.

Two different individuals had been significantly injured.

The SIU stated two officers have been designated as topic officers of their investigation.

“At this time, neither has submitted to an interview or provided their duty notes, as is their legal right,” the SIU stated.

The SIU stated it has greater than 100 movies as a part of its investigation, which have been obtained from in-car cameras, physique cams, civilian recordings, Ministry of Transportation footage and drone footage.

A 60-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, who had been visiting from India, and their three-month-old grandson died within the crash that concerned a van being chased by police whereas going the unsuitable manner on Freeway 401.

The SIU has stated Durham police had been chasing a cargo van that had been recognized as a automobile of curiosity in an alleged liquor retailer theft in Clarington, Ont., with the pursuit shifting to Freeway 401.
