Toronto police have shared new details on a parental abduction case involving a man from Whitby.
A father was sought after he allegedly took his three-year-old son to Delhi, India in July 2024, and didn’t return.
They had been ordered by the court to come back by August 8, 2024.
Authorities issued a warrant for Kapil Sunak, 48, from Ashburn.
According to investigators, arrangements were made for him to fly back to Canada, where he was apprehended at Pearson Airport upon arrival on Tuesday.
He’s facing charges of child abduction under 14 years in violation of a court order.
