Whitby enters closing section of public engagement for brand spanking new complete zoning by-law

The City of Whitby is gearing up for the ultimate section of public engagement in growing a brand new complete zoning by-law, an important doc geared toward guiding land use and growth throughout the neighborhood. This initiative will consolidate the city’s three current zoning by-laws right into a single, streamlined doc that aligns with trendy zoning practices and adheres to provincial, regional, and native insurance policies.

Town will host two neighborhood open homes:

13: 7 to eight:30 p.m. at Whitby City Corridor (575 Rossland Rd. East)
18: 7 to eight:30 PM at Brooklin Group Centre and Library (8 Vipond RRd.advert)

Every session will function a presentation by SGL Planning and Design, adopted by a Q&A interval on the proposed draft.

“This new zoning by-law will not only make it easier for residents and developers to access information, but it will also help ensure that Whitby develops sustainably as our community continues to grow,” in accordance with a city information launch.

The present engagement section follows two earlier phases the place residents shared their ideas on key instructions for the draft by-law. The suggestions from the upcoming classes will probably be instrumental in finalizing the doc, which is slated for council approval in 2025.

Supplies from the displays will probably be out there on-line after the classes at connectwhitby.ca/InTheZone.

The goal is to create a complete framework that addresses residential, business, industrial, and agricultural growth contemplating all varieties of land use all through Whitby, excluding the Brooklin enlargement space..
