Ontario’s Massive Metropolis Mayors executed just a little govt shuffle Friday, with Whitby Mayor Elizabeth Roy added to the board as Secretary.
Different new faces embrace Barrie Mayor Alex Nuttall as Vice-Chair, with the 2 newcomers becoming a member of Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward as Chair, Kingston Mayor Bryan Paterson as Treasurer and Cam Guthrie of Guelph as Previous-Chair.
Roy replaces Oakville Mayor Rob Burton as Secretary.
The brand new members will formally be a part of the committee in December for a two-year time period.
“It’s an incredible honour to be named to the executive committee of Ontario’s Big City Mayors, which leads a caucus of 29 mayors from Ontario’s largest cities.,” Roy stated. “I’m looking forward to continuing work on the many challenging issues facing our municipalities.”
Ontario’s Massive Metropolis Mayors, which gives a voice in coverage debates regarding municipal points, is comprised of mayors of Ontario cities with populations of 100,000 or extra. Collectively, the group represents practically 70 per cent of Ontario’s inhabitants.
“I am extremely grateful to the members who have stepped forward to serve on the executive and I look forward to working with new members and returning,” stated Meed Ward. “We are stronger as an organization when we have collaborative leadership working together for the benefit of the caucus on the tough issues we all face.”
