A person has died and two others had been taken to hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Whitby early Friday, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say.
Emergency crews had been referred to as to the off-ramp on Freeway 401 eastbound to Brock Road round 2:55 a.m. for report of a automobile rollover.
A 23-year-old man was pronounced deceased on the scene, OPP say. Police say two different passengers — a 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman — had been taken to hospital in non-life-threatening situation.
The off-ramp to Brock Road will stay closed Friday till highway signal repairs are accomplished by the Ministry of Transportation. The on-ramp and all lanes of Freeway 401 within the space are open.
