Boy Injured in Whitby Car Incident

A young boy is recovering from minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle while heading to school in Whitby.

The incident took place Friday morning around 8:30 in the area of Civic Centre Drive and Dryden Boulevard, just east of Brock Street.

According to Durham police, the child, who is between five and ten years old, was hit at the intersection.

The boy was taken to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure, but his injuries are considered minor.

The driver remained at the scene, and an investigation is currently underway.
