WRPS Continuing to Investigate a Shooting in Cambridge

UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:

Waterloo Area, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested three youths in connection to a capturing in Cambridge.

On August 18, 2024, at roughly 2:30 a.m., three people met with the sufferer in Cambridge and acquired into his automotive. An altercation occurred, ensuing within the sufferer being shot. The automobile was subsequently pushed off the roadway and into the Grand River. The three suspects escaped the partially submerged automotive, leaving the sufferer behind.

The sufferer was capable of exit the automobile and name for assist. Emergency companies responded, and the sufferer was transported to hospital with accidents decided to be from a gunshot. 

On August 21, 2024, the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Theft Crew recognized and arrested a 17-year-old male, a 14-year-old feminine, and a 12-year-old feminine, all from Kitchener. Search warrants have been accomplished at three Kitchener residences, ensuing within the seizure of 1 firearm and ammunition.

The three youths have been charged with varied prison offences, together with theft with a firearm, aggravated assault, and different firearm-related charges.

All three youths have been held in police custody for a bail listening to.

The investigation is ongoing.

Waterloo Area, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a capturing after responding to a report of an injured male in Cambridge. 

On August 18, 2024, at roughly 3 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured male within the space of Water Avenue North and Dundas Avenue South.

Upon arrival, police situated a 22-year-old male who was transported to hospital by Area of Waterloo Paramedic Companies with non-life-threatening accidents as a consequence of a gunshot wound.

There shall be an elevated police presence within the space of Water Avenue North and Dando Avenue for the retrieval of an concerned automobile from the Grand River.

Investigators imagine this was a focused incident.

The investigation is ongoing by Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Theft Crew.
