Waterloo Regional Police Seize Over 200 Firearms in Weapons Investigation

Waterloo Area, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a second male in connection to a firearm investigation.

On September 6, 2024, at roughly 7:20 p.m., members of the Waterloo Regional Police Direct Motion Response Crew (DART) arrested a 39-year-old Guelph male for quite a few firearm-related offences after a visitors cease in Waterloo.

The investigation remained ongoing.

On September 11, 2024, a search warrant was accomplished at a Guelph residence the place police arrested a 72-year-old Guelph male for firearms storage and dealing with offences.

The male is scheduled to seem in courtroom in October.

Waterloo Area, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have seized over 200 firearms after a weapons investigation that started in Waterloo.

On September 6, 2024, at roughly 7:20 p.m., members of the Waterloo Regional Police Direct Motion Response Crew (DART) stopped a car for a visitors violation within the space of Weber Avenue North and Bridgeport Highway East.

Through the visitors cease, officers noticed firearms and ammunition within the car. The driving force, a 39-year-old male from Guelph, was arrested and charged with careless use of a firearm and transport firearm or restricted weapon. Seventeen firearms have been seized from the car.

As a part of the continued investigation, on September 7, 2024, members of WRPS’ Normal Investigations Unit accomplished a search warrant at a residence in Guelph. Investigators seized 156 improperly saved firearms and a further 60 firearms beneath public security provisions of the Prison Code. A big amount of ammunition, magazines, and firearm elements have been additionally seized.
