Waterloo Area, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have seized medication and firearms and arrested seven people in connection to a Managed Drug and Substances Act investigation.
The three-month-long drug trafficking investigation was led by WRPS’ Medication and Firearms Unit and resulted in 5 search warrants being accomplished in Waterloo Area and Wellington County.
On October 16, 2024, Waterloo Regional Police, with help from the Ontario Provincial Police, Guelph Police Service, and Hamilton Police Service, accomplished 4 search warrants in Cambridge and Kitchener and one in Wellington County.
As a part of the investigation, police seized two firearms, ammunition, medication, together with suspected cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and hydromorphone, Canadian forex, and three motor autos.
Six males, together with a 21-year-old, a 26-year-old, and three 20-year-olds, all from Cambridge, and a 20-year-old from Wellington County, in addition to a 38-year-old Kitchener feminine, have been arrested and charged with over 25 legal offences, together with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession for the aim of trafficking, possession of counterfeit forex, and failure to adjust to a judicial launch.
The accused events have been held in police custody for a bail listening to.
