Waterloo Area, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Theft Crew have charged three males after an armed theft in Kitchener.
On September 6, 2024, at roughly 5 p.m., police responded to a number of reviews of an armed theft at a jewelry retailer at Highland Hills Mall.
4 suspects attended the realm in an SUV stolen in Peel Area two days earlier. Three of the suspects then exited the car and entered a jewelry retailer contained in the mall. The suspects used a hammer to smash show instances, stole merchandise, and fled the shop.
Members of the general public who noticed the theft intervened and detained the three suspects in a mall hallway till police arrived and took over the arrests.
No bodily accidents had been sustained on account of this incident.
Three males, a 15-year-old, a 16-year-old, and an 18-year-old, all from Brampton, had been charged with the next offences:
Theft with a weapon
Disguise with intent
Possession of a weapon for a harmful goal
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
All three males had been held in police custody for a bail listening to.
The fourth suspect, the motive force of the stolen car, fled earlier than police arrival and stays excellent. The car is described as a black 2024 Jeep Wrangler with the Ontario licence plate quantity CZXZ 122.
