A skincare shop named Resveralife has suddenly closed its Waterloo location after not paying rent; a move that many former customers say was overdue due to what they call years of aggressive sales tactics and misleading practices.

A notice on the Conestoga Mall storefront mentions that, based on a prior notice issued on Oct. 27, 2025, about unpaid rent, the lease for this property is now terminated effective Nov. 8, 2025.

The news of the closure circulated widely after a post on Reddit revealed the closed store.

“Looks like Resveralife didn’t pay their rent & their store at Conestoga Mall has closed down,” said the Reddit post.

“Getting harassed by their associates out front felt like part of the shopping experience there. Won’t be missed,” the post continued.

Other users on Reddit and numerous Google reviews shared similar sentiments, especially regarding the use of “aggressive sales tactics.”

Shannon Debrari, a past customer at Resveralife, told that the store frequently “fails to disclose prices and secretly puts the receipt in the bag with a ‘no refund’ stamp…without mentioning it.”

She mentioned that she often saw people avoiding the storefront completely to escape being approached, with many Reddit users echoing her experience.

“After the whole incident, I started to walk on the other side of the hallway to avoid being pressured into going into the store,” added Debari.

Google reviews for this location reflect similar frustration with various comments about it.

The Waterloo branch had a rating of 3.3 stars while a Guelph location was at 1.1 stars at publication time; many comments talked about aggressive sales tactics, unclear pricing and trouble getting refunds.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) shows four formal complaints against Resveralife with none resolved yet. Resveralife didn’t respond to requests from for comment before publication.

One complaint claims that a customer was charged more than twice what she agreed upon for a product that wasn’t what was demonstrated.

An additional complaint described a “traumatic” visit where staff allegedly yelled at her while trying to convince her to buy treatments costing thousands of dollars.

This closure comes after another incident earlier this year in Guelph where reports surfaced about a woman claiming her 75-year-old mother, who she says has dementia, spent nearly $14,000 on anti-aging products at a Resveralife-branded store.

The device sold is listed online by its maker for over $20,000.

This week, as things stand now, the Waterloo store remains dark with termination notice still posted at its entrance.
