Waterloo region, Guelph, and Wellington County could see as much as 20 mm of rain from Monday night into Tuesday morning, leading to a special weather statement for the area.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, rain is set to start late Monday, with a chance of thunderstorms.

Regions just north of this area, such as Grey and Bruce counties, along with Collingwood up to Parry Sound and Huntsville, are under a rainfall warning.

“After a break in the precipitation later on Tuesday, another round of heavy rain may affect parts of the region Wednesday,” the statement says.

“Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas.”

The showers are expected to wrap up by Tuesday morning. The temperature should hit 21 C but feels like 27 C due to humidity.

The forecast indicates that rain may continue throughout the week, with temperatures staying in the upper teens starting Wednesday.
