Authorities have charged two men from Kitchener following an investigation that led to the recovery of 18 stolen vehicles at a chop shop in Cambridge.
In March, the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s (WRPS) break and enter, auto theft, and robbery – or BEAR – unit began looking into the illegal vehicle salvage operation, commonly referred to as a chop shop.
On Thursday, officers executed search warrants at a location on Eagle Street in Cambridge and also at a residence in Kitchener.

According to police, several of the 18 stolen vehicles were stripped down for parts.
A 51-year-old man and a 19-year-old man from Kitchener have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, trafficking stolen goods, and fraud over $5,000.
The suspects were held for a bail hearing.
