A person has died after drowning at Wasaga Seashore on the weekend.
Huronia West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an emergency name on June 16 round 1:50 for a report of a drowning off the shore of Allenwood Seashore, east of the Nottawasaga River in Wasaga Seashore.
A person had been seen falling off a paddle board after which making an attempt to swim to shore.
“The person was reportedly now not seen within the water after their paddle board was blown away,” said a police launch.
Police say the 61-year-old was discovered at about 2 p.m submerged within the water. He was taken to a hospital the place he was pronounced deceased.
The OPP responded to the decision with the marine unit, helicopters and Wasaga Seashore Hearth and Rescue.
Police are reminding individuals to put on lifejackets or private floatation units when on the water in any form of vessel.
