TORONTO – York Region police have charged two individuals and are looking for a third person related to a double murder that took place in Vaughan, Ont., last month.
Authorities say officers arrived at a residence near Kaiser Drive and Forest Drive after receiving reports of gunfire on May 13.
Their investigation revealed that two men were found outside the house, both having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
In addition, police responded to another location where a stolen SUV, allegedly linked to the suspects, had been abandoned and set ablaze.
A 27-year-old man from Toronto now faces charges including two counts of first-degree murder and arson. A 55-year-old man from Windsor, Ont., has been charged as an accessory after the fact to murder and also with arson.
A 48-year-old man from Windsor is currently wanted on charges of first-degree murder and arson.
The police executed a search warrant at a residence in Toronto where they recovered a loaded firearm along with items believed to be intended for making explosives, such as a detonator, pipe, and bolts.
Additionally, authorities seized three firearms and an extended magazine during searches of homes in Windsor, Ont., and Hamilton.
