A 15-year-old boy is deceased after he was hit by not less than two autos in Vaughan Thursday morning, police say.

York Regional Police mentioned it occurred within the space of Weston Street and Villa Royale Avenue. That’s simply south of Main Mackenzie Drive.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at 7:24 a.m.

Police mentioned a boy was discovered with life-threatening accidents and was taken to a trauma centre the place he was pronounced deceased.

“It’s believed he was struck by at least two vehicles,” police mentioned.

The autos concerned remained on the scene.

“It sounds like the first vehicle struck him, he was thrown and then struck by a second vehicle,” Const. Lisa Moskaluk instructed Ontario Chronicle.

“But that will all be determined through our roadway reconstruction teams and investigators at the scene … It’s important that any witnesses come forward just to help fill in those gaps for us and determine what happened.”

Moskaluk mentioned the boy was seemingly headed to a college within the space. She mentioned she believed he attended Tommy Douglas Secondary College, which is positioned a brief distance away, close to Weston Street and Main Mackenzie Drive.

Ontario Chronicle has reached out to the York Area District College Board however has not but obtained a response.

Police have been seen at Tommy Douglas Secondary College on Thursday.

Mother and father and college students on the faculty have been distraught to listen to information of the boy’s dying. He has not been named by police.

Ahmad Dhalli, a mother or father on the faculty, mentioned he believed the coed might have been in Grade 11.

His daughter, Maryam Dhalli, mentioned that whereas she didn’t know the boy personally, folks have been “crying and grieving” within the halls of the varsity.

Different dad and mom mentioned the incident raised issues about potential dashing and their kids strolling to highschool.

Moskaluk mentioned the boy’s subsequent of kin have been notified.

“It’s a horrible situation for anybody, but especially for any parents who have children that attend that school or other students that are friends of that student or that may have witnessed it,” she mentioned.

“Because of that, we also have our youth officers that are attending the school, and victim services are being provided to anyone that requires that, especially the family at this time.”

Moskaluk mentioned it’s believed there have been “quite a few” witnesses within the space on the time of the collision and requested them to return ahead.

“It’s quite a busy area with both pedestrian traffic of students going to school and with vehicles in that area on Weston Road,” she mentioned.

“Unfortunately it doesn’t sound like a lot of people hung around to speak to police.”

Anybody who witnessed the incident or has video footage from the world across the time of the collision was requested to contact police.

York police’s main collision bureau is investigating.
