President-elect Donald Trump instructed reporters he would make cellphone calls on behalf of Home Speaker Mike Johnson to assist Johnson maintain the gavel.

Trump spoke to reporters at Mar-a-Lago on New Yr’s Eve and reiterated his assist for Johnson. A reporter requested him if he would make cellphone calls to Republicans who’re skeptical of conserving Johnson as speaker.
