Arnold J. Ziegler, 84, from Barrie Ontario, handed away peacefully in his sleep on April 23, 2024.
He was born to folks Arnold and Stephanie on August 25, 1939, in Barrie Ontario. Arnold graduated from Barrie Central Collegiate in 1956, and went on to have a profitable profession as a Buying Supervisor for West Bend and Tambrands. He lived his whole life in Barrie and by no means needed to depart.
Arnold married Maria, the love of his life, in 1989 and remained married to her on the time of his passing. Arnold can also be survived by his sons Mark and Craig, and his grandson Benjamin. He’s predeceased by his mother and father Arnold and Stephanie in addition to his older sister Hilda.
Arnold was recognized for his love of sports activities, most notably teaching and umpiring baseball, fastball and slo-pitch. In 1959 he was carded for umpiring for each the Provincial and Nationwide Umpiring Associations. He umpired for 57 years wherein he was concerned in teaching three (3) Ontario Baseball Affiliation Championships for Ontario. He coached many ranges of baseball, from tyke home league to the Canadian Juvenile Group which went on to win the Nationwide Championship in 1985. He was awarded a gold medal which he treasured alongside along with his many baseball memorabilia.
Arnold notably loved umpiring the Barrie Built-in Baseball League. The particular wants adults on this league adored their “Arnie”.
In 2001 the primary Barrie Baycats Intercounty Baseball League was shaped and Arnold was invited to be their third base coach. He was at all times nicely revered all through the Barrie ball scene. Along with baseball, he participated as an Government Member of the Barrie Flyers Senior Hockey Affiliation. In 2016, he deservingly obtained the John Crawley “Native Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Barrie Sports activities Corridor of Fame.
He was a religious Catholic and infrequently missed a mass throughout his life. He had an awesome sense of humour and a really type soul. Arnold at all times made these round him higher folks and he had an uncanny skill to place a smile on somebody’s face, whether or not it was household, a good friend or an entire stranger.
Arnold shall be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and good friend. He shall be missed dearly by everybody, however his legacy will dwell on.
A mass to have a good time Arnold’s life shall be held at St. John Vianney Parish, positioned at 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie Ontario. Refreshments to observe within the auditorium and all are welcome to attend.
