Weapons seen at protest close to Hindu temple in Brampton, Peel police say

Peel police have issued a public security alert saying weapons have been seen in an illustration close to a Hindu temple in Brampton on Monday evening.

Residents have been warned to steer clear of the demonstration on The Gore Highway close to Tyler Avenue. The world is near the Hindu Sabha Mandir temple.

Within the alert posted on X, previously Twitter, police mentioned the weapons have been noticed inside the crowds. Police mentioned its public order unit was deployed within the space.

“That is now an illegal meeting and we shall be clearing the realm,” police mentioned on X.

Police mentioned members of its public order unit suggested individuals on the demonstration to disperse.

“All events should depart the realm now or face arrest,” police added.

A CBC photographer noticed a protester kicking a automobile making an attempt to cross the intersection of the Gore Highway and Don Minaker Drive after the driving force honked on the crowd.

The gang had blocked visitors after marching from the temple.

Toronto police confirmed in an e-mail late Monday evening that they have been additionally on the demonstration to assist Peel police.

The demonstration comes hours after police introduced on Monday that three males have been charged following violence in Brampton and Mississauga on Sunday. Police mentioned violence erupted between teams of protesters at a collection of demonstrations in these two cities.

These demonstrations have been outdoors the identical Hindu temple the place the protest passed off on Monday evening in addition to a Sikh gurdwara.
