Toronto, different components of GTA beneath rainfall warning, fog advisory on Sunday

Atmosphere Canada is warning of great quantities of rain within the Better Toronto Space and different components of southern Ontario that can make roads moist and slippery on Sunday.

Fog can be anticipated to trigger near-zero visibility in Toronto and surrounding areas, the division stated. 

It forecasts 20 to 44 millimetres of rain in Toronto, Guelph, Oakville, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Vaughan, Niagara Falls, Oshawa, Markham, Richmond Hill and different areas.

Wet circumstances will start Sunday morning and will likely be heavy at instances. The rain will finally scale back to remoted showers at evening.

Atmosphere Canada is urging folks to avoid washouts close to rivers, creeks and culverts, and maintain youngsters and pets away from creeks and river banks.

Toronto and Area Conservation Authority says a Flood Outlook, Watershed Circumstances Assertion is in impact till 10:00 p.m. Monday.

It says the mixture of rainfall, above-freezing temperatures, frozen floor, ice and snow soften may create harmful circumstances close to rivers or different water our bodies and advises folks to keep away from all shorelines and rivers inside the GTA.

Fog inflicting near-zero visibility

Toronto is seeing patchy dense fog that’s anticipated to proceed within the morning, Atmosphere Canada stated. 

In a fog advisory issued at 4:35 a.m. on Sunday, the division stated near-zero visibility has already begun within the metropolis. 

“If visibility is decreased whereas driving, flip in your lights and keep a protected following distance,” it stated. 

Different areas beneath a fog advisory embody Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Mississauga, Brampton, Newmarket, Pickering, Oshawa and Durham Area.
