VAUGHAN, ONT. — The Residential Building Council of Ontario (RESCON) has introduced it’s launching authorized motion towards the Metropolis of Toronto over the escalation of Toronto Inexperienced Customary (TGS) efficiency measures.
In a media launch issued Dec. 2, RESCON acknowledged it had filed a authorized software within the Ontario Superior Court docket of Justice the place it’s looking for a compulsory order that will implement the Constructing Code Act and prohibit town from imposing constructing laws on planning functions as a result of “they are beyond the legal authority of the city.”

“Individual municipalities do not have the authority to develop their own building regulations. The province moved away from this practice in 1975 when the OBC was established to unify the design and construction of buildings province wide.”
