Police say the driving force of a college bus is dealing with charges after a 22-year-old woman was struck and killed whereas strolling in a crosswalk in Toronto, and the lady’s household lawyer says authorized motion has been launched in opposition to the driving force and the bus firm.

On Oct. 9, 2024, police stated a younger woman was struck by a college bus making a left-hand flip whereas crossing on the crosswalk at Kingston and Kingswood roads. She was rushed to hospital with life-threatening accidents and died a number of days later.

The lady has been recognized as 22-year-old Rachel Turner. Her dad and mom, Susan and Leon Turner, advised Ontario Chronicle the lack of their daughter is “really hard.”

“Getting married, and having a job and having kids. We’ve lost seeing all those things with her. It’s really hard to get up every day, but you have to; you have to just continue on in her honour.”

“Our family will never be the same,” Susan stated, including that Rachel had siblings. “We’re not complete without our children.”

Smitiuch stated a federal process power investigated faculty bus security and made suggestions to Transport Canada in 2019 and 2020, which included sensors and automatic braking methods on buses to detect pedestrians.
