Annette Porter-Conrod instructed TBnewswatch her recommendation to the youthful era is just to ‘be kind’ to 1 one other.

THUNDER BAY – It was a day to have a good time as Annette Porter-Conrod together with family and friends received collectively for her one hundredth birthday on Saturday.

Porter-Conrod will formally flip 100 years previous on Monday.

Deb Ritson, Porter-Conrod’s daughter mentioned it’s attention-grabbing to consider all of the adjustments her mom has been by way of.

“My mother grew up by way of the battle and she or he’s gone by way of so many adjustments in her lifetime.

“Her and my dad were from Manitoba. They met when my dad was in the army and they ended up moving to Thunder Bay because my dad wanted to come here to play hockey.”

Deb mentioned easy issues make her mom joyful.

“She enjoys sitting out in the yard watching the birds and squirrels. She likes to watch the squirrels run on the hydro lines.”

Derek Ritson, Deb’s husband, mentioned they gathered associates, household and neighbourhood associates to have a good time the day.

“100 years is fairly superb.

“It’s not too many people you get to know at 100 years old and tell all the stories and listen to them,” he mentioned.
