Paul Pepe receives tourism management award

‘It was an entire shock,’ stated Thunder Bay’s tourism supervisor after receiving recognition on the Northern Ontario Tourism Summit.

THUNDER BAY — The supervisor of Tourism Thunder Bay has been honoured by his colleagues throughout Northern Ontario for the work he is performed to advertise town and area as a vacation spot for guests.

Paul Pepe acquired an Business Chief of the Yr Award finally week’s Northern Ontario Tourism Summit, held in North Bay.

The annual occasion brings collectively tourism companies, organizations, suppliers and authorities representatives to community, focus on trade challenges and discover options. 

Pepe’s award was for attracting investments in tourism.

“It was an entire shock to be awarded this honour…and I’m humbled by the popularity from my trade friends,” he stated in a social media put up.

“It’s an award I share with my crew and my CEDC coworkers who all help my oddball fashion and concepts and who all work so arduous to make good issues occur for our vacation spot.”

In an interview Monday, Pepe cited the efforts made lately to advertise the cruise transport trade.

“That is a part of the worldwide journey commerce.  It is investments that we have made collectively, it is a part of a neighborhood collaborative to boost consciousness of Thunder Bay as a vacation spot to construct these partnerships with the worldwide cruise trade…Being aligned with the worldwide journey commerce actually helps stimulate new curiosity in the neighborhood, and that may assist drive future funding that we’re beginning to see.”

He added that the work the Neighborhood Financial Growth Fee has been doing to help vacation spot tourism with town’s tourism growth fund, by reinvesting the collected lodge taxes, can also be thought of a greatest follow amongst Ontario municipalities

The CEDC posted its personal congratulatory assertion about Pepe on social media.

“Paul’s visionary management and dedication have performed a pivotal function in attracting funding and elevating Thunder Bay as a premier vacation spot. His dedication to the CEDC crew and to innovation is actually inspiring, and this well-deserved recognition displays his arduous work and fervour for our neighborhood,” it stated.

Subsequent 12 months’s Northern Ontario Tourism Summit will happen in Thunder Bay over three days.

Tons of of delegates are anticipated to attend.
