Closure Between Shabaqua Corners and Upsala

Thunder Bay – NEWS – Highway 17 is completely shut down in both directions between Shabaqua Corners and Upsala due to a crash involving three transport trucks and a pickup truck.

One Person Taken to Hospital

Emergency responders are on the scene, and one person has been taken to the hospital. Currently, the extent of their injuries is not confirmed.

Major Route Disruption for Northwestern Ontario

This section of Highway 17 is vital for commercial traffic and travelers moving between Thunder Bay and western communities, so the closure will likely lead to significant delays. Drivers are advised to steer clear of the area and find alternative routes until the highway reopens.

Motorists should follow instructions from police and emergency personnel and check official road updates before heading out.
