As of Wednesday, around 2,088 people remain evacuated in communities across Ontario, according to a spokesperson for the minister of Emergency Preparedness and Response.
Among the communities that evacuated, Aroland First Nation and Ojibway of Saugeen First Nation have returned home.
Cat Lake First Nation, Mc Dowell Lake First Nation, and Mishkeegogamang First Nation are also working on returning.

Current Wildfires in Northwestern Ontario
There are 122 active wildfires reported in northwestern Ontario, based on the latest update from Ontario’s Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services (AFFES) released on Tuesday evening. Out of these fires, 28 are not under control, five are being held, six are under control, and the rest are being monitored. On Tuesday evening alone, there were 11 new fires confirmed in the northwest: Fort Frances 52 (FOR052), located about half a kilometer east of Premier Lake Road and south of Durie Lake, is less than a hectare in size and currently under control. Fort Frances 53 (FOR053) in Quetico Provincial Park between Draper Lake and Walter Lake is also less than a hectare and is being held. Fort Frances 54 (FOR054), approximately eight kilometers east of Highway 502 between Little Sawbill Lake and Big Sawbill Lake was called out at 0.1 hectares. Thunder Bay 65 (THU065), situated north of Highway 811 between Dog River Road and Rondeau Road was called out at 0.1 hectares. Thunder Bay 66 (THU066) is about two kilometers west of Highway 527 southwest of Swarbrick Lake; this fire spans approximately half a hectare but is not under control. Thunder Bay 67 (THU067) can be found around 18.5 kilometers west of Highway 527 south of Pantagruel Creek Provincial Park; it measures at about a tenth of a hectare but remains uncontrolled. Dryden 50 (DRY050) and Dryden 51 (DRY051) lie south of Savant Lake between Highway 599 and Barnard Lake; DRY050 is being held at two-tenths of a hectare while DRY051 was called out at one-tenth of a hectare. Dryden 52 (DRY052), located east of Sunday Lake roughly one point three kilometers southeast from Richan spans over three-tenths but remains uncontrolled. Lastly, Dryden 53 (DRY053), around thirteen kilometers east from Dinorwic north along Melgund Lake Road has been noted as not under control at one-tenth hectares while Nipigon86 (NIP086), positioned approximately thirteen kilometers west along Highway585 near Frazer Lake’s west side measures one-tenth hectares also classified as not controlled. The largest wildfire in this area known as Thunder Bay36 continues to rage out-of-control covering nearly314 thousandhectares. A NOTAM(Notice to Airmen)is also currently applicable within this region.Heat Warning Issued
A yellow heat warning extending from Manitoba’s border all the way down south to Canada-U. S. border continuing up towards Deer Lake has shifted eastward reaching Wabakimi Park by Wednesday. Environmentand Climate Change Canada indicates that these conditions might persist into Thursday possibly Friday with highs ranging from twenty-nine to thirty-one degrees Celsius accompanied by humidex values fluctuating between thirty-three through thirty-eight while nighttime temperatures could dip into sixteen or even twenty degrees Celsius.Status Of Evacuations And Implementation Orders
